The international "Bossa Nova" rage is generally dated from the November 21, 1962 concert at Carnegie Hall in NYC, which featured among others Sergio Mendes and his group, João and Astrud Gilberto, Tom Jobim and Roberto Menescal.
This genre has remained popular and has recently experienced resurgence in Brazil as well as entered the repertoire and rhythmic language of jazz and popular music around the world.
For the past 20 years Ludmilla has been developing a solid reputation, working with renowned MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira) artists. Carefully selecting her repertoire, she finds new meaning in the music of such great composers as Tom Jobim, Carlos Lyra and Edu Lobo.
Since 1998 the singer has received a tremendous reception performing in the New York area,always accompanied by Marcello Pimenta. Together, they give an exciting high-energy performance that is truly unforgettable.
